Hometown Blues Review: the Alternate Root

Thanks to Danny McCloskey for the review in the On the Radar section of The Alternate Root

"MohaviSoul (from the album Hometown Blues)
The storytelling of MohaviSoul is backed by traditional Bluegrass soaked in California Country. At the heart of the band are founders Randy Hanson (mandolin, vocals), a fifth generation SoCal native, and Mark Miller (guitar, vocals) adding in his West Virginia Roots. The band tribute their desert home and Hometown Blues, their latest release, provides a soundtrack for all sides of love from its promises (“Stay Tuned”) to matters of the heart that go right (“On My Way”, “Dozen Roses”) and go wrong (“Contrary Lovers”, “Dirty Shame”). MohaviSoul capture the excitement of a live performance on Hometown Blues as the band pay homage to vinyl (“Lay That Needle Down”), libations (“Drinker’s Lament”), perseverance (“Gettie Up”), and the need to keep on trucking (“Until I Go”)."
